We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Estimator to join a dynamic and rapidly growing general contracting firm based in Dallas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in preparing accurate, competitive estimates for ground-up and interior commercial construction projects across sectors such as education, retail, healthcare, and municipal work.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals for commercial construction projects.
Review project drawings, specifications, and RFPs to determine scope and prepare pricing strategies.
Coordinate and solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors; analyze subcontractor quotes for completeness and competitiveness.
Lead bid reviews with project teams and senior management.
Collaborate closely with preconstruction, project management, and field teams to ensure alignment of scope, budget, and schedule.
Maintain and update estimating tools, historical data, and cost databases.
Participate in value engineering efforts and suggest cost-effective alternatives.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating (ground-up and/or interiors).
Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Procore, Sage, or similar platforms).
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and costs.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
