The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the sales department by serving as the technical expert on our product offerings. This position involves being the main point of contact for customers regarding product performance and operational specifications. Additionally, the role includes on-site installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of pantographs and other products for electric buses, electric rail vehicles, and other transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of the Sr. Engineer – Field Operations
  • Provide onsite training to customers
  • Update and enhance service documentation
  • Maintain our product line through repairs, modifications, and maintenance
  • Prepare test and service reports
  • Develop suggestions for improvements to our products and services
  • Quality control of third-party technical service partners
  • Conduct onsite commissioning activities, including Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Prepare necessary tools, materials, documentation, permits, travel arrangements, and briefings
  • Support engineering with deployment, testing, and feedback of new products
  • Assist as a technician of the 3rd line support in solving malfunctions
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Keep records of all service activities according to company procedures
  • Provide first-line company support in case of technical product issues

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of field, maintenance, and/or service work experience
  • Training in construction, industrial, and/or electrical safety
  • Experience with electrical equipment and systems installation
  • Knowledge of safety regulations (NFPA 70E, OSHA 10, etc.)
  • Customer-facing experience and knowledge of service principles and practices
  • Proficient in using computers (Office, etc.)
  • Skilled in reading circuit schematics and engineering drawings
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to travel 50% to 60% within your region and internationally

    Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Standards including: SAE J3105, IEC 68151-1
  • Experience working with EVs and EVSEs
  • Understanding of the energy and transit markets
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, or German is a plus
