Pipefitter

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems in various settings. This role requires a strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The Pipefitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all piping systems operate efficiently and meet industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of piping systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pipelines for water, gas, steam, or other substances.
  • Utilize welding techniques such as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) to join pipes and fittings securely.
  • Perform pipe threading and cutting using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Use power tools effectively to assist in the installation and maintenance of piping systems.
  • Ensure all installations comply with relevant codes and standards, including fire sprinkler fitting requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of piping systems to identify potential issues or necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Apply basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe installation.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Proficient in welding techniques, particularly FCAW.
  • Experience with pipeline installation and maintenance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pipe threading techniques and equipment.
  • Competence in using various power tools safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of plumbing principles, codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
