Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Policy Manual Consultant for a mission-driven, statewide nonprofit that supports leaders in public education. This is a hybrid position based in West Sacramento, CA, with regular travel across California. POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Policy Manual Consultant to join a dynamic team committed to strengthening educational systems. In this role, you’ll help school leadership teams understand and apply policy language that reflects compliance and effective governance. This is a unique opportunity to engage with diverse school districts and communities throughout California and help shape policy tools that matter.

RESPONSIBILITIES: - Facilitate policy workshops and engage with educational leaders to guide governance practices
- Review and tailor policy manual language to meet legal standards and district-specific needs
- Clearly communicate complex technical and legal information to a variety of audiences
- Support internal writing and editing of school district policies, procedures, and resources
- Build trusted relationships with school boards, administrators, and elected officials
- Participate in team-wide collaboration, professional development, and outreach efforts
QUALIFICATIONS: - Demonstrated experience with policy development, analysis, or consulting
- Ability to facilitate workshops and present to groups with clarity and confidence
- Strong written communication skills, especially in editing or drafting technical material
- Comfortable navigating education-related legal and regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with education governance structures (e.g., boards or districts) a plus
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This full-time position offers a starting salary range of $62,025 to $75,000 annually, with potential consideration up to $78,000 for a highly experienced candidate. The role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement contributions, and mileage or travel expense reimbursement. This position also offers flexibility through a hybrid work schedule and statewide travel opportunities.
