Under the direction of the Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor II, the Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor I (PSDS I) provides supervision for the Public Safety Dispatchers; responsible for appropriate coverage on the dispatch floor; monitor and manage critical incidents, provide directions and assistance; responsible for training dispatch personnel and establishing training needs and guidelines; prepare probationary and annual performance appraisals; prepare monthly evaluations and quality assurance reviews, citizens' complaints, injury and illness reports; accountable for daily and monthly payroll paperwork; participates in pre-employment interviews; and other duties as assigned.

MCC PSDS Is are on a 4/10 alternate work week. MCC is located on the pristine central coast 17 miles from the Monterey Bay, 35 miles from Santa Cruz and less than 2 hours from San Francisco Bay Area.
The Monterey C ommunications Center dispatch employees receive an additional $300.00 recruitment and retention monthly pay differential. Part-time and intermittent employees shall receive a pro rata share of the monthly differential based on the total number of hours worked within the monthly pay period.
